The one for a child’s room

The Propolina P1 is a propolis diffuser shaped like a honeybee, in a durable, easy-to-clean casing built for everyday life in a nursery or a child’s bedroom. Its antennae glow softly once the lights go out, so it works as a night light as well as a diffuser.

Underneath the shape it works like every other PropolAir diffuser. The device gently warms a capsule of organic propolis until the aromatic, volatile part of the resin is released into the room. There is no water, no mist and no flame.

The night light

The bee’s antennae give off a warm, low glow — enough to settle a child at bedtime and to find the way across the room at night, without lighting the room up. It is the reason most parents choose a Propolina over the rest of the range.

The facts

• Built-in night light. A soft glow from the antennae, for bedtime in a nursery or a child’s bedroom.
• Child-friendly casing. Moulded plastic, easy to wipe clean, and sturdy enough for a shelf in a playroom.
• No ioniser. The Propolina P2 is the same diffuser with one built in.
• Covers up to 35 m². Most nurseries, bedrooms and playrooms. For a larger or open-plan room, the L3 and the Propol Therapy A4 have a fan that doubles the reach to 60 m².
• Runs on organic propolis capsules. One is included, and it lasts up to 122 hours — roughly five days of continuous use, or fifteen days at eight hours a day.

P1, P2, P3 or P4?

All four Propolina diffusers are the same bee, with the same night light, and all four cover the same 35 m². The differences are the ioniser and the material.

• Propolina P1 — plastic casing, no ioniser. The simplest, and the least expensive.
• Propolina P2 — the same diffuser with a built-in ioniser.
• Propolina P3 — wooden casing, no ioniser.
• Propolina P4 — wooden casing with a built-in ioniser.

An ioniser releases negatively charged ions into the air. These attach to floating airborne particles such as dust and pollen, making them cluster together and settle onto surfaces rather than staying suspended. It earns its place in a dustier room or a busier one. In a small, quiet bedroom, the P1 does the same core job for less.

The capsules

The P1 runs on the same organic propolis capsules as the rest of the range, so you are never locked into one blend. There are six, and they all cost much the same and last the same 122 hours — the difference is what the room smells like.

• Pure — propolis on its own. A quiet honey-resin note.
• Boswellia — propolis with Boswellia resin. Warm and balsamic.
• Breath — eucalyptus, mountain pine and spruce. A cool, resinous pine-forest note.
• Purify — tea tree, thyme and lemon. Sharp and herbal, with a citrus lift.
• Relax — lavender, Arolla pine and sweet orange. Soft and floral, for evenings.
• Repell — geranium, lemongrass and peppermint. Zesty and cool, for open-window months.

Each box holds five capsules. Relax is the one most parents reach for at bedtime.

How to use it

1. Insert one organic propolis capsule.
2. Switch the diffuser on to begin gentle heat diffusion.
3. When the diffuser signals that the capsule has finished, replace it and reset the diffuser.

Each capsule is for single use. Always check the manual that comes with your diffuser, which is the final word on settings.

In a child’s room

The diffuser gets warm in use, so place it out of a child’s reach and never in a cot, and keep the cable tucked away. Wipe the casing with a dry or barely damp cloth, and do not use household cleaners or anything abrasive.
